Why did you originally wanted to become a DJ: My friends played in a band and I couldn’t play anything. Then my mom signed me up to a DJ course. Out of pity, actually.
What’s the hottest thing around right now: It’s cool to play any kind of music. We are living kind of similar times when hip hop made its way to Manhattan and started to mix and get along with other music scenes.

Herman Prime can be seen as somewhat of a primus motor (or motor prime, if you will) of Plauge. As a founding member, Mr. Prime has literally done it all from designing fliers and posters to booking the guest DJ’s to DJing to making his own music for ten years. The prolific DJ/producer is always digging up interesting sounds and ideas. Even though Prime’s musical taste has really run the gamut, his current arsenal consists mostly of house, 80’s boogie, new wave disco, dancehall, soca, and current club styles. You can be assured that he has favorites in (or at least an opinion about) any genre of music.

Herman Prime promotes the Off The Hook club nights, which won the nomination for the best club 2008 at Funk Awards. He was nominated for the second best dj himself at the same awards.
