The DJ collective Plauge is celebrating it’s 10-year anniversary in February with seven different events all across town. A musical trip varying from live jazz to disco, from dubstep to techno, from hip hop to god-knows-what presents the entire musical spectrum of what the collective has to offer. Spanning over three weekends, the events all have different venues – each suitable for the occasion.

The bygone decade is also celebrated with the making of a documentary movie. The group, having started 10 years ago from all-ages youth parties, has grown and developed but maintained its mission of bringing a variety of music styles onto the city club scene. The twelve-strong collective is in a sense the alternative show producer of Tampere.

Things are afoot radio-wise during the jubilee year as well. As Bassoradio expands beyond Helsinki, Plauge is now responsible for the regional Tampere program for the station. The program, Tampere United, is a big step forwards for the national visibility of all movers and shakers of Tampere, as the goal is to provide visibility for anyone and everyone organizing parties and events in the city and nearby areas.

DJ-kollektiivi Plauge juhlii helmikuussa kymmenenvuotista toimintaansa seitsemässä tapahtumassa. Livejazzista discoon, dubstepista teknoon ja hiphopista ties mihin varioiva musiikillinen matka esittelee monipuolisen kollektiivin koko kirjon . Kolmena viikonloppuna järjestettävä tapahtumien sarja tapahtuu kuudessa eri tapahtumapaikassa – kullekin illalle sopivassa ympäristössä.

Värikästä kymmenvuotista juhlistetaan myös tallentamalla muistoja dokumenttifilmiksi. Kymmenen vuotta sitten alaikäisille suunnatuista klubeista aloittanut ryhmä on vuosien mittaan kasvanut ja kehittynyt, mutta pitänyt tehtävänään tuoda kaupunkiin monipuolisesti musiikkia, jota ei välttämättä muuten löytyisi. 12-henkinen kollektiivi onkin tavallaan Tampereen vaihtoehtoinen ohjelmatoimisto.

Juhlavuonna tapahtuu myös radiotoiminnan saralla. Bassoradion laajentuessa suurimpiin kaupunkeihin, alkoi Plauge toimittaa Tampereen paikallisohjelmaa, “Tampere United”. Tämä on ehdottomasti iso askel tamperelaisen DJ- ja klubikulttuurin valtakunnalliselle näkyvyydelle, sillä ohjelman tavoitteena on esitellä monipuolisesti paikallista toimintaa ja tekijöitä.

Oletko koskaan miettinyt miksi ravintolassa ei voisi soittaa omia levyjään? Nyt voi.

Café Europassa kannattaa poiketa nyt hyvän seuran lisäksi myös hyvän musiikin takia, sillä 12.11. ravintolassa aloittaa Hyvän Levymusiikin Iltamat.

Plauge-dj:t Jukolan Poika ja Kristiansson lähestyvät levyjen soittoa omalla tavallaan. “Hyvän musiikkihan on kaiken a ja o. Se sellanen fiilis, kun vaikka kuuntelee jonkin vanhan LP:n ja löytää sieltä itselle uuden biisin. Niin täytyyhän se jakaa ja tämä ilta on sitä varten. Formaatti on äänilevy, sillä äänitteiden ostamisesta ja niiden hypistelystä tulee hyvä tunne.”

Tapahtumaan suositellaan myös omien äänitteiden tuomista, vinyyli- tai cd-formaatissa. “Ajatelkaa tätä vähän niin kun levyraatina, mutta ei vaan arvostella niitä levyjä. Ainakaan vielä. Biisien väliin jää sopivasti taukoja ja sitten saadaan juonto tai joku hauska anekdootti wikipediasta. Tai sitten ollaan vaan hiljaa. Sitten tulee taas toinen kappale.”

Tapahtumaan ovat tervetulleita kaikki ikään ja levyihin katsomatta. Ravintolan ikäraja on 20 vuotta ja ravintolassa soitetaan vain hyvää musiikkia. Järjestäjät varaavat itselleen oikeuden määritellä hyvän musiikin.
