Samplebusters, Episode 2

I thought I’d make a guest appearance on this post series with some epic sampling madness:
Man Alive by Devilfish uses the famous chord loop from Inner City’s Good Life as well as the breakbeat loop from Grooveyard’s Watch Me Now, which in turn has a funky sample from It’s Just Begun by The Jimmy Castor Bunch. The horn section in the beginning of It’s Just Begun is used at least in the Aquarius ’96 Reconstruction -mix of I Trance You by Gypsy. The wacky synth-fill in Watch Me Now is probably not originally from that song, but from the Grooveyard track it has been sampled numerous times, including Perpetual Motion’s Keep On Dancing, which is largely based on a progressive house classic called Here I Go by D.O.P. and also samples it. The best thing about this is that these are all great tunes!
Unfortunately the Aquarius Remix of Gypsy is not on YouTube, but since it is such a nice balearic house classic I’ll give you a link for an mp3! </dance classics takeover>
