Underground Resistance (often abbreviated UR) is a Detroit-based artist/dj-collective and an influential label, famous for combining detroit techno and house with soul and jazz elements. The group was founded by “Mad” Mike Banks together with Jeff Mills in the late 80′s. The main gang also tours under the name Galaxy 2 Galaxy in a true big band style with full brass and percussion sections etc making their early lo-fi productions sound the way they should sound! Anyone who witnessed the amazing show at Flow Festival back in 2006 probably couldn’t stand still – with that kind of groove resistance is just futile!

One of the collective’s definitive tracks is called ‘Transitions’. Soulful and uplifting house with a message.
